Loray Mill

Nicknamed “Spindle City”, Gastonia was the center of the southern textile industry in the early 1900s.

 

Learn about the history of Loray Mill (turned Firestone Mill in 1935) at the Alfred C. Kessell History Center, open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00-5:00.

Loray Mill is located at 300 South Firestone Street, Gastonia, NC 28052. The Kessell History Center is located on the second level of the mill, near the front offices.
