Discover various types of horse-drawn vehicles that were used during the 19th and 20th centuries in the largest collection

   of horse-drawn vehiciles in North Carolina, located in the Daniel Stowe Carriage House. This exhibit features vehicles such

   as an Amish buggy, Tony’s Ice Cream Wagon, a Bob Sleigh, a Jenny Lind, a farm wagon, and much more. In 1980,

   Belmont textile executive Daniel J. Stowe located a group of magnificently restored horse-drawn vehicles that belonged to

   a local collector. He purchased twelve sleighs and carriages and donated them to the museum for its first permanent

   collection.
