Chasing Fireflies:  The Art of our Friends and Families

This new exhibit showcases the art and talent of Museum staff members, their friends and their families.  A lunchtime conversation observed that while the Museum staff frequently demonstrates their talent in other exhibits, the pieces they do outside of the Museum are rarely exhibited.  Furthermore, many of their friends and family are excellent artists and craftsmen in their own right.  Thus, the idea for a friends and family exhibit was born.  Fifteen artists are represented, ranging from world renowned travel photographers to talented high school artists.  The exhibit is an eclectic, spontaneous collection of ideas and mediums, that explores not only the realms of the artwork itself, but also the familial ties of the artists themselves.
